Reporters and anchors work under a lot of stress.
Sometimes it's not possible to see the forest when you're surrounded by the trees (and they have squirrels running around in them!). In other words, when you're in a miserable or confusing situation, the solution is not always obvious. That's where an experienced third party can be of great help. An ExampleOne of our clients was having difficulty with her photographers. One was competent, but had a terrible attitude. He made her miserable. The other was a beginner who barely knew how to point the camera, but he was very enthusiastic and pleasant. When she saw the footage, he made her miserable too. Her kind assignment editor would give her a choice each day. Trouble was she hated working with both of them and asked for my help. This client had once been a shooter herself, so I suggested that she choose the beginner with the great attitude and offer to teach him what he didn't already know. In other words, she should mentor him. She was a very bright reporter, but hadn't been able to see the solution because she was emotionally involved. She tried what I recommended and found she and the "trainee" photographer began to work together beautifully.
